On Easter Monday 22 players arrived at Addinghams Bracken Ghyll golf club to be met with blustery and wet conditions, not an ideal start for a days golf then. A good turnout included both football players and friends of the club. Played to Stableford rules and teeing off in groups of 3 and 4 play started at 11am. With many of the early holes being played in a strong wind it wasn't easy, especially for the non-golf players. Thankfully as the day went on the wind calmed and the drizzle that we started the day in gave way to sunshine. There were four prizes on offer, the overall winner was D.Shaw with a score of 36. The longest drive was won by Harry Bland. Matthew Sharpe took the nearest the pin competition. James Rodgers won the wooden spoon competition convincingly recording a score of 1. The golf was followed by a presentation ceremony in the clubhouse accompanied by a few beers and a light lunch. All in all it was an excellent day and we hope it will continue for many years to come. Thanks go to Mick Snape for organising the day and Bracken Ghyll golf club for putting up with us...
