Originally formed in 1946, the club’s first season 1947/1948 was within the Craven League Second Division. The first
ever game played was held at Long Preston and was against Horton, the score being 3-3. Gane, Irving and Bicknell were the scorers.
The following season was also very successful as seen by the tables below.
There are to date only five surviving members of the
original team living either in Long Preston or surrounding villages they are Frank Irvine, Tom Clay, Bill Rogerson, Robert Slater
and John Metcalfe.
The original team colours were black and amber stripes.
